Here is kind of a complicated rotation to keep monk dps running throughout the battle from test in beta. Might change later on at release or when practice more. Anyway here goes :P.

Main Rotation
1. Touch of death ( Dot of 30 sec)
2. Bootshine ( Switches to raptor form), Dragonkick for starter rotation
3. Twin snakes ( from side, increase damage for 12s, changes to courel form)
4. Demolish ( Dot of 18s, add greased lightning too that increase attack speed and deal lightning damage over timer, changes form to opo opo)
5. Bootshine ( from behind target, extra damage due to opo opo form, switch to raptor)
6. True strike ( from behind, changes form to courel)
7. Snap punch ( from side, add 2nd stack greased lightning, changes form to opo opo)
8, Repeat from 1.

Notes:
1, After doing 1 rotation, all Bootshine must be from behind target due to opo opo bonus in effect.
2.use blood for blood ( frm LNC), Internal release to push up main attack combo. Also, feel free customize skills u want add from LNC,GLA. Monk has access to this 2 only. Invigorate, feint and whatever else ;p

Debuff Rotation
1. Touch of death ( Dot of 30 sec)
2. Bootshine ( Switches to raptor form)
3. Twin snakes ( from side, increase damage for 12s, changes to courel form)
4. Demolish ( Dot of 18s, add greased lightning too that increase attack speed and deal lightning damage over timer, changes form to opo opo)
5, Dragon Kick ( from side, opo bonus, reduce target blunk resistant for 10s)
6. One Lim Punch ( removes one beneficial status from target, change form to courel)
7. Snap punch ( from side, add 2nd stack of greased lightning, change form to opo)
8. Back to main rotation.

Notes:
1. feel free add in feint for an extra slow debuff on target, or steel peak for stuns

Area of Effect Rotation
1. Touch of death ( Dot of 30 sec)
2. Bootshine ( Switches to raptor form)
3. Twin snakes ( from side, increase damage for 12s, changes to courel form)
4. Demolish ( Dot of 18s, add greased lightning too that increase attack speed and deal lightning damage over timer, changes form to opo opo)
5. Arm of the destroyer ( opo opo bonus, silence for 1 sec kinda short but i guess it serves as interuption to mobs that are casting spell. Changes form to raptor.)
6. True strike ( from behind target, change to courel form)
7. Rockbreaker ( cone aoe, add greased lightning, change form to opo opo.)
8. Go back to main rotation or repeat this if needed.

Notes:
1. You can add in howling fist for an extra aoe after rockbreaker, but howling fist has a 300s cooldown so u won't be able use it every rotation.
2. Is good to start the rotation with the initial 4 skills too, this give main target and your skills boasted, as well as not to pull aggro from all mobs before tank grab all. :p

Lastly, monk is a high dps class, but the key is to once you start, never stop the rotation as each form leads to another and thats how the damage get push up with all the debuff in and skill speed boasted up with stack of greased lightning, along with damage boast from either blunt debuff by dragonkick, twin snakes and positioning. Monk isnt a class of direct combo such as drg where u do 1 skill, lead to 2 other. Monk is a class that combos all the way endlessly. You will have to move a lot. I hope this clear some doubts of people saying monk weak or no combos. I played most of time on monk in beta testing various skills and such to come up with this :) hope it helps :D

hehe. just thought it do help us all out since all skills of every class change alot. :p. Would make it easier for us get into the roles faster at open beta :D. other class rotation i still don't know as didnt touch them yet lol. maybe some1 else has it :D

Well, if you want to know the GLD rotation it goes somewhere along the lines of: Fast blade->Savage blade->Rage of Halone.

Repeat. Flash for multiple mobs

A good Gladiator/Paladin will do more than that, because there is a lot under the surface, especially for boss fights. MP management, timing shield bash-stuns, covering weaker party members for major attacks, raising defence skills when healer is pre-occupied, not to mention maintaining your opponent's position. But I digress…

I've only taken a cursory glance at the pugulist, but it looks like a very busy class, which is less my style compared to BRD or WHM. I'm going to try and mess with it a bit anyway this weekend and I'll be looking to Kairi's suggestions when I do.

I would suggest replacing Bootshine with Dragon Kick for the very first rotation when not in Opo-opo stance as it has a higher base potency. The 100% crit with Bootshine is only applied after ending with Demolish or Snap Punch.

So very initial rotation would be:

Dragon Kick > Twin Snakes > Demolish
Dragon Kick > True Strike > Snap Punch
Bootshine > True Strike > Snap Punch
Bootshine > Twin Snakes > Demolish

etc etc.. Obviously adding in Touch of Death etc


Although in saying that, it's only about a 20 potency difference :P So fairly meaningless.

Shield Bash being ON the GCD really takes it off my "useful abilities" list.

good catch :P. yup can do that dragonkick :). i played most of weekend on pugilist was why i guess. only last weekend then get to play monk for a day :D.

In my boredom over the previous week I spent a good chunk of my idle time, deconstructing all of the skills for the jobs by reading through xivdb.com and figuring out optimal rotations based on that…

I would post them up as well but that is entirely too much work. Maybe I will consider doing it when I get bored this week.
