Was planning to wing it & play on an NA server but once I did the ping test, it was clear a JP server is superior (200ms difference).
Anyway, decided to join the forums & look for a LS/FC since I'll be pretty lost in a JP server. I used to be very focused on hardcore raiding when I was younger but now am looking for a more relaxed or dare I say, casual environment with like-minded people.
I have a large history with MMOs & have either played or beta tested most games on the market. Surprisingly, I have never played FFXI & have only played FFXIV 1.0 from the first closed beta until it's release. My longest tenure with an MMO was with World of Warcraft (6 years)
Anyways, nice to meet ya'll. Hope to kill x & collect y with some of you ingame.
(Can totally empathise with the 'hardcore raiding once upon a time' thing. Long over are my FFXI days of waking up at the keyboard and wondering where everyone in the party had gone - only to notice sunlight creeping through the drapes and realising that said party had likely disbanded several hours earlier :P)

Likewise. Still haven't decided on a server yet. Depends on which FC/LS would have me I guess.
