Hey all,

I just found out about this site by chance in google and decided to join to try find some Aussies/Kiwi and anyone around us who will be starting up in FFXIV ARR to find out which server most of us will be joining. This way i can join a LS that is in my time zone and live when I'm on (evenings/nights). BTW I'm located in Sydney.

I have been off MMOs for quite awhile due to their lack of content, skill and holding appeal. Now saying that i will note that I've been in the original FFXIV beta and continued to 1.0 but ended up leaving due to lack of content and just general poor successor to FFXI. I then picked it up again when i was in the FFXIV ARR Alpha and all the Beta phases. I found the game to be fun and the community very helpful in wanting to make FFXIV ARR the game it should have been. Now that its finally being released i can look for a tight community and LS to join and get more involved.

Now i did notice most Aussies are heading to Tonberry (JPN) or Behemoth (NA). I did a ping test and got 133ms for JPN and 287ms for NA. So looks like I should head to Tonberry (unless there is a good reason to go to Behemoth?).

I'll also note i lived in Japan for a year and understand a bit of Japanese so wouldn't have any problems in Tonberry (also my GF is Japanese which helps).

Also what i need a hand with is how would i go about joining Tonberry? Will i need a JPN account? I never really bothered into servers during the Alpha and Beta phases as i was simply testing the game, providing feedback and bug reports.

If you purchased / are going to purchase an EU copy of the game you will need an EU Square Enix Account.

The registration codes are bound by region and the payment currency depends on the region of your SE account. e.g. JP yen / US dollar / EU euro or pound

Regardless the region of your SE account, you can choose any server you wish and any of the languages available in the client. JP/ENG/FRE/GER
