Haha never played either one? FF9 was amazing. Arguably one of the better FF's from the more modern era. (Modern in terms of post-FF7)

I always felt 9 was less known for some reason.

Lots of people i know went 7, 8 and straight to 10 when talking about the series. I never really knew why. It was a fun game (i only played half because i borrowed it from my friend, lol)

9 is awesome in terms of story, is much better actually, just that it didnt get the attention due to just graphic art direction lol… from polygon (ff7) -> humanoid (ff8) then suddenly chibi type (ff9).

Yea, i wondered if the sudden change in art style from getting more realistic to that might have had something to do with it.

Yeah although I personally liked the FF9 artstyle. It is kind of what has always defined FF for me. Perhaps it's because it was my favourite of the series :p

I found that it was well done, if stylistic.

8 was really…pixelated?

FF8 is about as good as they could do at the time, with the technology. I actually thought the graphics were breathtaking at the time.

I didn't play it until well after it came out, so that might have bearings on my opinions of it, lol.
