I'm obviously in Australia, and I could not find any info about which region we had to buy our copies from.

Does it matter if I get a NA or EU (digital) copy?

If you have a 1.0 you dont need nor can use the codes for any of the pc versions.
(with exception of standard account to digital upgraded CE version when the game releases, It will be on the lodestone when you can purchase it)

PS3 Digital: AUS PSN.

PC Digital its EU:

I don't have a 1.0 account, unfortunately.

I'll probably be getting a digital copy from Green Man Gaming (25% off at the moment), and looking on the SE website that store is listed under both Australia and the UK. I'll take it this means I'll have a EU version?

Also wondering if getting a EU or NA copy restricts your server options, or you're just as free to play on any server.
Sorry if I seem like a total noob!

I don't know any thing about your first question, but I can say you'll be able to choose any server in any region, there are no restrictions based on what region you buy or what region you're in.

I think the type of billing depends on which version you buy.
i had problems with 1.0 because of billing and never played past when they introduced ppm because of the billing issues….

ya the only difference in version is billing. NA will bill to na website and require NA account. Eu on eu site etc.

I been with NA account all the while and they added direct cc option in the last few months of FFXIV 1.0 with promise of more options. so hope for the best. " click and buy sucks" =p. i used paypal to get crystas last time :X

EU has direct credit/debit card as well. As for crysta i only know if you registered under UK that has Crysta suport.

If you're in Australia, get the EU version. That is what retails in Australia.

You don't want to accidentally hit any walls in the registration or use process because you're not a supported territory of North America. It is the EU office that looks after Australians' accounts.
