Hi everybody,

I am writing this message hoping I would be able to find a friendly, nice, English-speaking FC/LS on Tonberry.

My hubby and I have been considering switching over to Tonberry for quite a while now; only thing holding us back is that we don't know any Japanese/Asian languages so we worry we wouldn't have enough people to play with.

What we are looking for in a FC/LS:
- English-speaking
- medium or large-sized or enough people online at all times/most of the time
- as active as possible
- helpful
- friendly and nice
- fair
- polite

We have been playing FFXIV since early access and we love it; we are polite, friendly and we enjoy helping people and making new friends. We came over from FFXI where we had a LS that felt and was almost like a family so we'd love it if we could find something similar on Tonberry.
We intend to play for many years to come; we also play at unusual times during the day or night which is why we'd like it if we could find people online basically at all times. We are a mix between semi-hardcore and casual players, that is to say, we usually play every day for several hours at least but we do have periods of time when we are too busy to even log in (recently it's been because of house renovations); however if we know we won't be online for a longer time, we're more than happy to let our FC/LS know in advance.
We are from Sydney, Australia and we tend to play mostly in the evenings and nights; however, if needed, we are willing to try to be online at other times as well.

Also, I have a question for those of you on Tonberry that speak/prefer English and use the Duty Finder: when you do use the Duty Finder and get sorted with other people from Tonberry and other JP servers, is language a problem at all? Since it's random people, I imagine most would type in Japanese; how do you handle that, how can you talk strategies and such?
I worry about this because we tend to use the Duty Finder a lot and since neither one of us can read Japanese or any other Asian language, that could potentially become a huge issue.

If it's any worth mentioning, we're considering moving to Tonberry to have a better and lower Ping, to have more people online at the times when we are online, to have a better and bigger FC/LS and to be part of a better, more helpful and more polite community.

We'll probably only switch to Tonberry if we manage to find a FC/LS. Do you think it's worth moving , especially given the possible language issues?

Also, are there any other JP servers with a big English-speaking community that you'd recommend, besides Tonberry?

Any advice/suggestions/answers will be greatly appreciated!

Hi there. So sorry it's taken so long for you to get a reply.

If you are still looking for a FC on Tonberry, I'd like to tell you some about ours. We are a medium sized FC of English speakers. Most of us are from Australia, Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, and Japan. We have about 100 members, and want to keep it close to that number. We hope that by keeping a maximum like this, it will promote a closer, more family-like environment. Usually we have around 30-40~ people online at prime-time. We also have a good range of casual and hardcore players I think. We have 4 FC coil groups running now and we like to do events like CT/primals together on weekends. If you are interested, you can visit our website, or hop on over and talk to me ingame^^.

When using the DF. If you only want to pair with English speakers, all you have to do is only keep the E selected. It's usually not a big deal since Tonberry has a high English speaking population. However, also queuing for J will get you in faster. I've found that just a greeting in Japanese is usually enough if you do happen to be paired with JP. Plus, there are a few of us in the FC that speak Japanese, so if you ever have a question or need something translated you can always ask :) In PT finder you will have no problems finding an English speaking group for just about anything. So,I do think it's worth moving if you are currently unhappy with your current server.

If you have any more questions feel free to ask :) I'll try to check back here more frequently.
