Update (copypasta from my other thread for clarification): For those who want to join a pre-established SEA community, Mirai, our free company and linkshell, is probably going to Adamantose, a new server. We're made up of a mix of hardcore and casual players, and recruit everyone who plays nice tongue.gif

Even if you're not joining Mirai, but want to start on a new server, I'd recommend Adamantose.

New servers have been announced, and after considering the options, I'm thinking Adamantose. Reason being it was rather vibrant during beta 2, is a NA server, and it has a rather nice ring to it. However, we will only make our final decision as to where to take Mirai during beta 4. NA servers mean english speaking community, and we don't quite have enough people to survive in our own bubble on a JP server.

This is for people wanting to join a NEW server. We're one of the larger "new server" FCs out there, so thought if no larger body wants to establish the new server equivalent of Masamune (old unofficial SEA server), the responsibility falls upon us.

If you're an admin of another free company and wish to move to another server, please let us know so we can join you, should the arrangements be agreeable.

Thanks!

Old post:
Just wondering who/which body is going to make the announcement and when, so I can relay that info back to my FC.

Previously as only "new server" FC Miral we were planning to do it, but since we're no longer the only one, the responsibility/honor isn't ours alone anymore. So was wondering if someone/admin here was going to make the call?

@Altena if you're making the call, so long as it's workable, Mirai will join whatever server you decide. You have our support at the very least, and that's about 20 people so far.

TL;DR: Who's making the announcement and when? We can do it if no one else wants to, but would probably be better if the community at large did rather than us as a single FC. If anyone's in a FC, would appreciate if you could contact me so we can work something out as a mutual decision.

Well we can't really make the call when we don't know what the servers are / what region they are in / what are new / what are old servers, so I think the only thing we can do for now is wait.

After they are announced I will update the poll on the main page and we can go from there? Too early to make that call really.

For now the best we can do is get the word out there about the site and hope we get a good number of Oceania players on here.

Dropping by from Synapse (SG/Oceanic GMT+8) http://www.synapse-guild.com/

We're going to be rolling on a *new* server hosted on the JP datacenters. Based on BETA servers at the moment (pinging via http://www.arrstatus.com/) some servers are consistently pinging 30-40ms higher than the others. We'll be picking one of the servers from the lower ping range. We'd be keen to communicate our decision to other Oceanic groups but we may not necessarily follow this group's collective decision.

Cheers :)

:\ the sad part of that is that I do not think there many peeps that talk in English will be going to a JP server. Have to wait and see as we grow closer.

With the translation tools available in game, we can effectively play on the JP servers. The only issue would be the lack of contact outside of your guilds / linkshells, I guess.

Yeah, unless there is a really large community, I'm prolly taking Mirai NA, sadly. JP has a better community, but unless we have almost ALL of us oceanics going there, in the scale of several hundred, it won't be very feasible in the long run. And recruitment will be hard.

Synapse can probably survive there since they're a relatively large and close knit multigame guild. Us normal smaller free companies will prolly end up feelin real lonely lol.

Still waiting to see if more people are going jp though.

I think the great thing about playing on a JP server, is the japanese really know how to make you feel at home in a mmo.
The games that they play there that still have high numbers such as monster hunter online is a great example of how even though its only PVE, the game still continues to have a great community.

I think like on many other mmos, when Oceanic flock to 1 server, after a few months of playing many unhappy people leave to a new mmo that has surfaced and the servers either merge of have to reroll on another server.

The closer the day comes i feel like i want to start out new and fresh tbh.

Also i lived in Japan for 5 years, so im happy to roll on a JP server as i also speak Japanese haha, but its great to know they have translation in game!

Fiddling with the translator in FFXI was one of the most engaging experiences in an MMO for me actually.. The JPs treated me well, i did my part in parties and it was a great experience all around. Of course it also helps that i'm a huge fan of Japanese culture and have a basic understanding of the language :)

True but not everyone can speak Japanese. If u say you going to mark it as a Oceanic/SEA, you need to be there too as well as promote it all around that that will be the new Oceanic/SEA. but for the sake of incase a decline in population. Is best to be in NA atleast people there talk English. Easier to communicate when new players comes especially from Oceanic/SEA.
